About Golf in Kenya
One of Kenya's best kept secrets is its numerous golf courses.
Kenya is fast becoming the golf destination for lovers of golf and safari. Not many destinations offer the excellent combination of golf, beach and safari all in one holiday. The beautiful landscape and friendly people is an added ingredient that will make your holiday an experience of a lifetime.
Visitors will be truly fascinated by the exquisite combinations that can e enjoyed on the golf safari. Golf can be combined with either a wildlife safari, the beach , mountain climbing, fishing, bird watching or camel safari to name a few. The views in Kenya are breathtaking – form the grand Rift Valley to the snow capped Mount Kenya . The range of depth of colours in Kenya, to be seen nowhere else, include the deep orange sunsets, the bluest skies and the whitest beaches.
Kenya has more than 40 golf courses, with plans for more underway. At least three of these are championship courses, one being Muthaiga Golf Course that features in the annual European Tour.
Golf is easy to play in Kenya and a polo shirt can be worn most of the year. Golf is normally played with caddies as golf carts are not easily available. Caddy fees, however, are very affordable and are in the range of 5-8 Euros for 18 holes.
For the visiting golfer, Kenya has a broad appeal. There is everything for the fanatic golfer, whilst the avid golfer can fashion his safari to include some wildlife viewing as well. A golfer who prefers to laze on the beach can still fit in a game or two and the business traveller, with an afternoon off, can easily play his favourite game right on his doorstep.
